To provide a training structure and documentation to ensure a qualified group of Search and Rescue members. To provide encouragement and incentive for members to: maintain training, elevate the levels of performance, and to stimulate the growth of leadership within the unit. To aid and assist in finding lost or missing persons including first aid care and evacuation from the field either by litter by horseback. To promote public education of wilderness safety.

Evidence search Bothell July 2001

| This was the first mission we were called to after 2001 graduation. We were called to search for evidence at a trailer park. It involved clearing a lot of black berries while trying not to fall in the river and sorting through lots of junk. |

White Chuck Trailhead Mission September 2001

| Call to assist Snohomish County SAR by giving a hiker on the Pacific Crest Trail with bad knees a ride out. |

Mud Mountain Mission November 2001
|

|
| Saturday Nov. 24, NWHSAR joined hundreds of other searchers looking for 4 year old Julius, on Mud Mountain south of Enumclaw. The youngster was with his mother and several other children, descending the peak of this popular hiking spot, when he ran ahead, around a corner and vanished. The boy was found just before 10pm on Saturday. He had worked his way down the mountain and was found by a local resident. He was ok . |
