To provide encouragement and incentive for members to: maintain training, elevate the levels of performance, and to stimulate the growth of leadership within the unit. To aid and assist in finding lost or missing persons including first aid care and evacuation from the field either by litter by horseback. To promote public education of wilderness safety.

2023 DATES ARE HERE!!

If you would like to be put on the mailing list for updates please send an email to the Training Coordinator.

If you are a fellow Search and Rescue member (outside of NWHSAR) please contact Training Coordinator for information about cross-training.

NWHSAR has adjusted the training to allow more flexibility for trainees. We have new minimum requirements and expectations for our training year.

Due to the amount of time, energy, and effort that all the unit members have put into achieving this training. We ask you to commit to our training year and have open communication with us.
We are looking forward to having you.
